Young Musician’s Concerts

The Festival audience is always particularly supportive of young musicians. Across the years, the Fortnight has featured a number of debut performances and it is a tradition we are pleased to maintain.  This year, it is particularly satisfying to be programming a large number of young musician’s concerts and recitals.  These concerts star young performers who have recently left (or are still attending) prestigious music schools, colleges or conservatoires, or who are at the start of their professional careers.  It is one of the Festival’s proud achievements to have supported the musical ambitions of so many, from choristers to professional singers and organ scholarships to professional pianists and organists.  In particular, we recognise the nurturing spirit that our Music Director, Colin Baldy has brought to the Festival Fortnight, creating opportunities for performers to discover, develop and display their talent. Thanks must also go to our audiences who take these young players to their hearts and support them from the start and throughout their careers.
