The Artemis Trio

Programme: Like Beethoven, Brahms loved to visit beautiful, rustic settings, and “vacation” with fresh inspiration and the joy of composing. After the death of his mother, Brahms was walking through the Black Forest near the spas of Baden Baden in the springtime. There, nature, nostalgia and elegiac reflections gave birth to his miraculous trio for violin, horn and piano

Beethoven Horn Sonata in F Major

Bach Keyboard Partita No.1 in B flat Major

Interval

Bartók Romanian Folk Dances

Brahms Horn Trio in E flat Major

Brahms, Trio for horn, violin and piano Op. 40

Performers: Jack Reilly, Julie Piggott and Sebastian-Benedict Flore.  This trio are contributing to the Festival’s Young Musicians Concert programme and are still studying at the UK’s most prestigious Music colleges and schools.  Between them they already hold an impressive number of achievements, including the NI Young Musician of the Year, finalist in the Richard Bissill Horn Competition and winner of the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe’s Junior Intercollegiate Piano Competition in 2019
